Green Vesper

The Old Fashioned Week is just around the corner. Next week we’ll publish a series of delicious Old Fashioned recipes. But for now… it’s almost Halloween and Dia de Muertos. Let’s have a Vesper that could have been mixed by Morticia Addams herself. And yes, it’s a green drink.  Don’t worry, you won’t need a tail of a rat or an eye of a toad to prepare this one.

Compared to the original James Bond recipe for the Vesper, in this recipe the Kina Lillet is substituted by Absinthe and gin is the leading spirit. I’m posting this as a base recipe, which you can use for further experiments.

Green Vesper

Ingredients
0,5 parts Absinthe
1 part good quality grain Vodka
3 parts Sorgin Gin

Method
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with lots of ice. Stir it for 15 seconds and strain it into a chilled Martini glass. Let’s keep it simple. Use a smaller type of glass and forget the garnish (ok, a lemon twist is possible if you really insist). If you want to add a spooky touch, get some of those plastic (or edible) spiders to decorate 😉
